Awesome Winter Fun!

DJ Peace and Luke visit BLASTER on the slopes of Park City Utah - Awesome Travel Blog

I grew up in New Hampshire where skiing on ice is common and "winging it" without a lesson or two is encouraged. I believed for decades that skiing is equivalent to falling on the hard, icy snow until you finally give up. Luckily for me, an older relative, with a timeshare in Park City, decided that it was safer to have me drive them up from Southern California, so, in 2015 my family and I were given ski lessons and WOW!! ... What a difference a lesson makes!

It is not cheap to ski, so if you decide to give it a go, or give it a second chance, it is important to take at least ONE lesson, dress accordingly (with layers of clothing and the proper equipment) and plan your finances accordingly. We typically ski three times in a five day period so we get the online discounted pass for three lift passes within a five day period. My wife prefers to stay on the "beginner's slope" so she pays less and stays stress free.

The beautiful thing about skiing. You can choose what comfort level you prefer and you can be any age. I've watched 2-year olds to folks in their mid-70's enjoying the famous powder snow of Utah.

Is it worth coming to Utah to ski?

I've met travelers from Australia who take that long flight to enjoy the dry, powdery snow while some come from Colorado that say it is easier to access Park City, Utah.

There are many ski resorts within an 30-60 minutes of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Park City Utah Sledding in Winter - Awesome Travel Blog

Awesome sledding can be found at Woodward Park City along with an indoor skate park, adventure center and cafe. It can be expensive so book online in advance. We paid at the counter and it cost us *$50.00 per person for up to two hours and it was a very quiet day! *Winter 2020. We would have saved $15.00 (or more) per person by booking online the week before. It is also a good idea to e-mail questions in advance since I could not get questions answered during business hours by phone or online chat the morning we decided to go.

Snowboarders and skiiers can get access to the terrain park at very reasonable lift ticket prices.
