"Angor Wat" is Khmer for "Temple City" and was built in the first half of the 12th Century. It is one of the largest religiious monuments in the world. It was $34.00 US dollars for a "day pass" on April 14, 2019 (A 3-Day pass is available for about $65.00). It is well worth it if you want to see some awesome historic structures in a beautiful park-like setting. It is flat enough to ride a bike for those who want to get some excercise while viewing some pretty cool temples.
"Angkor Thom" was the last city built by the Khmer Empire and it has a one-lane gate that is pretty impressive. I had to jump out and stop traffic to allow our Tuk-Tuk driver, Kiri, the ability to pass through. Originally, I hopped out to shoot Kiri driving through but realized that motorists coming the other way were not going to stop.... Here's the video:
Once we were through, we visited the Temple where the original "Tomb Raider" with Angelina Jolie was filmed. I had a chance to get inside one of the giant trees!
